Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 2026

Tunvio is committed to making its app usable by as many people as possible. This statement describes the accessibility features of the Tunvio app for Android, iOS and Samsung Smart TVs (Tizen), its known limitations, and how to reach us with accessibility feedback. It follows the requirements of Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act) and the EN 301 549 standard.

Accessibility features

  • Full keyboard and TV-remote operability — every interactive element can be reached and activated with a keyboard or D-pad, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
  • Screen reader support — controls and images carry descriptive labels, and important status changes (play/pause, connection loss, recording start, sync progress) are announced without moving focus (TalkBack / VoiceOver).
  • Text size — the operating-system font size is respected and combines with the in-app text-size setting, up to 200 % magnification.
  • Subtitles and audio tracks — subtitle and audio tracks in the stream can be listed and selected, with an automatic preferred-language option and an adjustable audio/subtitle synchronisation offset.
  • Subtitle appearance — subtitle text size, text colour and background can be adjusted in the playback settings.
  • Gesture alternatives — volume and brightness can be changed without swipe gestures via an on-screen panel with sliders and buttons; long-press menus are also reachable by keyboard/remote.
  • No flashing content — the interface contains no content flashing more than three times per second.
  • User-controlled timeouts — the "Still watching?" prompt and the sleep timer are configurable or can be switched off entirely.
  • 22 interface languages, including right-to-left layouts (Arabic, Persian, Urdu).

Known limitations

  • The white text on the turquoise primary buttons — and some subdued hint texts and icons — falls below the WCAG AA contrast thresholds. This is a deliberate brand-design decision.
  • On Samsung Smart TVs (Tizen), the platform video player does not expose subtitle or audio track selection; the subtitle appearance options are therefore unavailable there as well.
  • The subtitle appearance options apply to the standard video player. The optional VLC player renders subtitles itself.

About this statement

This statement was prepared on 11 July 2026, based on an internal audit of the app against EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) and a manual screen-reader test run.
