Continue watching and clear your watch history
On this page
The short answer
To continue a movie or series in Tunvio, open “Recently Watched” in the category list of “Live TV”, “Movies” or “Series” and select the title. It resumes where you stopped. Your “Watch history”, a day-by-day list of everything you played, is a separate list under Settings, “Data & storage”.
What you need
- Something you have already played. Tunvio adds titles to “Recently Watched” by itself.
- Tunvio keeps both lists on your device and does not receive them. If you turn on device sync, “Recently Watched” and your resume positions can travel to your own storage (see the last section).
Continue a movie or series
- Open “Live TV”, “Movies” or “Series” and select “Recently Watched” in the category list. If the entry is missing, see “If it does not work”.
- Select the title. By default it starts at once at the saved spot. For a series it starts the episode where you stopped, or the next episode if you finished the last one.
- Prefer to see the title page first? Open Settings, then “Playback”, and turn off “Resume plays immediately”. Then a title under “Recently Watched” opens its page first, and for a series the list of episodes.
On a series page, the main button names the episode, for example “Resume S2 E5”. Posters in the lists show a bar for how far you got.

Remove one title from the list
- Hold the title in “Recently Watched”. On a remote, hold OK.
- Select “Remove from Recently Watched”.
See your watch history
- Open Settings and then “Data & storage”.
- Select the row “Watch history”. The app describes it as “Every session, day by day”. If you set a parental PIN, Tunvio asks for it first.
- Scroll through the days, starting with “Today” and “Yesterday”. Each entry shows what you watched, for how long and how it ended: “Finished”, “Stopped early” or “Only opened”.
- To narrow the list, use “Content type”, “Period” and “Result”, or search with “Search title”.
- Hold an entry (on a remote, hold OK) to open its menu with “Play again”, “Show details” and “Delete from history”.
Delete history
- To delete one entry, use “Delete from history” in the entry menu.
- To delete more, select the trash icon at the top of the “Watch history” screen. “Delete filtered entries” appears only while a filter is set and removes everything that matches the current filters, across the whole history. “Clear entire history” removes every recorded session, the stored title records and your taste profile.
To empty only the list for resuming, open Settings, then “Data & storage”, and under “Clear data” select “Clear recently watched”. This removes the list and the saved resume positions, but keeps the watch history.
To let Tunvio tidy the list by itself, set “Clean up recently watched” in the section “Recently watched” on the same page. Entries you have not watched again within the chosen period are removed.
Pause the watch history or keep titles out
- Open Settings, then “Data & storage”, and find the row “Record watch history”. It records every playback with its time and duration.
- Turn it off to stop adding new entries. “Recently Watched” and resuming keep working, and what is stored stays.
You can also keep whole categories and channels out of the history. Open Settings and then “Content” and look for “Private history”, once under the categories and once under the channels. In the app you see whether this function is included in your plan. If you set a parental PIN, Tunvio asks for it first. Playbacks from there never appear in “Recently Watched” and are no longer added to the watch history. The option “Remember progress in the background” on the same page decides whether Tunvio still saves your position invisibly, so you can pick up where you left off.
Continue on another device
Device sync can carry “Recently Watched” and your resume positions to your other devices. Open Settings, then “Device sync”, and include “Recently watched & resume”. The data goes to the storage you choose and not to Tunvio. The watch history itself stays on each device.
If it does not work
- “Nothing watched yet”. The list is empty. Titles you play appear there by themselves. Titles from categories or channels without history never appear.
- “Recently Watched” is missing from the list. Open Settings, then “App & appearance”, and turn on the switch “Show ‘Recently watched’”.
- The title starts from the beginning. You cleared the list, removed the entry, or the automatic cleanup removed it. The saved position goes with it.
- “This entry can no longer be played.” Your playlist no longer lists the title. You can still delete the entry.
- “The entry could not be deleted.” or “The history could not be deleted completely.” Try again.
- “The watch history is paused — new playbacks are not added to it.” Turn “Record watch history” back on.
